The Wonder of UK Phone Plans

Sept 22, 2011

Just found out how horrid my home phone plan was as I bought a new cell (or mobile as they say here) along with a wicked plan today and my wallet didn't start blubbering.  Bought a train pass and tickets to Aberystwyth and was très impressed with how quickly the Aberystwyth University's international student co-ordinator got back to me about when we could arrive at the University.  Went to Nero Cafe and the guy at the till called me 'darling' and it made me feel loved, even though it's a popular term to use in England.

Not a garbage can but a litter bin

Love it when people correct the menus

My older sister pulled a fast one on me and had arranged for us to see Wicked!!!

National Portrait Gallery

It's Voldemort!!!

I wonder if they use a drip system or if they water these bad boys manually

Looking for Johnny Depp... no bloody barber knives in sight...

 Art in a demolition sight

London Tower

These people actually had lions... I call that dedication to a decent defense system

Power Bridge

We took the tube to London Tower and we walked by the Power Bridge, after which we went to Baker Street and found 221B Baker Street!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  For those living under a solid mineral that forms part of the surface of the earth, 221B Baker Street is where Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson lived in Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's literary masterpieces.

WIN!!!

Had to take advantage of that beautiful sky...

Tried duck meat (oh so good) for dinner and C and I went to see Wicked!  Elphaba's voice was so clear and strong and when she finished singing 'No Good Deed,' the hall erupted in cheers and prolonged clapping.  Loved every minute of it - thank you dear sister!!!  We went back to our hotel for one last night and couldn't get internet so we left mom and dad a message and the parental units probably thought I was drunk because I was so scattered.  Leaving messages is not my strong point.
